Zion- The Narrows- Utah

The Narrows requires a little more planning. Be aware time of season as flash floods are common and certain times. Many people rent a bunch of intense gear, but you don't need it! Just wear a good pair of running shoes, shorts, and a quick dry shirt. We were worried we would get cold but hiking through the water exerts enough energy to keep you warm. The canyon walls go high on both sides of you and there is no getting out except the way you came in (if you are starting at the bottom). Most of the hike (like 98%) is hiking through the river. The depths vary from just at your ankles to chest level (and even swimming depending on how far you want to go). Make sure your pack is either waterproof or at least you pack stuff you don't mind getting wet. Beautiful landscape. You walk as fish swim along your side, even saw a couple gold trout. The further you go, the fewer the people, but the more difficult it gets climbing over boulders and hoping swimming holes. We took one detour through the Orville Canyon, even tighter but you quickly get to a point where some ropes would be helpful to keep going. Make sure you bring hiking poles as this will help with balance. Don't forget the camera! This was my favorite hike in Zion.
